I'm not sure if this is relevant, but before I discovered TVShows I was just using EZTV http://eztv.it/ to grab torrents. Lately I have been going back to the site to see if TVShows had missed something and it seems that for the last week or so, torrents have been showing up late or not at all. That said, TVShows was still missing the episode that were showing up. All I'm saying is that possibly there was a nasty convergence of multiple problems in the last week or so that actually had little to do with the 2.1 update.
32 Posted by rodcockerell on Nov 14, 2013 @ 11:50 PM
Yes that happens from Tim to time with EZTV but now TVSHOWS 2 is smarter and does not rely solely on EZTV but there are a few factors and idly enough it has almost nothing to do with the new update !

Cristina, I replied to the thread you pointed me to - http://support.tvshowsapp.com/discussions/problems/2688-tvshowsprefpane-is-damaged-and-cant-be-opened-you-should-move-it-to-the-trash
2.1 must have been pulled. All I get is 2.0

Why doesn't someone with appropriate permission consolidate the the threads that are discussing the same issue?
Support Staff 35 Posted by Cristina Gómez on Nov 15, 2013 @ 10:07 AM
Hi all,
Tom, as I already said, this has nothing to do with the 2.1 update (the only thing that may be related is that the developer screwed the updating system while messing with the server to post/pull the 2.1 update, but they are two different things). If by "last week" you meen this week, then we are talking about the issue this discussion is about. Before that, feeds were updating just fine (I live in Europe and I always get my shows the morning after they are aired in the US).
mgnewman, it's not possible to merge discussions (it would also generate incoherent conversations), but I'm trying to keep things tidy, by redirecting users to the appropriate discussion. This is the one for the "episodes not downloading" issue and this one is about the 2.1 update and its issues. But some users keep replying in other discussion :(

Keep up the good work guys.
I love the software. We'll be patient and wait :)

Any news or any expected date when this issue will be solved ?
Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE TVShows. I just miss it a lot :-).

I've noticed that in addition to shows not downloading, the TVShows tab has completely vanished. I'm still on 2.0.

Hi ..... i am really really confused. i have been reading all these comments and as i hate messing with things i didn't make any changes to my subscriptions and opted to wait for a resolution. it was posted in post 13 that the old feeds had now been fixed and those that hadn't changed anything we needed to do nothing and wait for our new eps to download ..... well i am still waiting and nothing has happened for me since wednesday. not a single file.
41 Posted by rodcockerell on Nov 17, 2013 @ 08:45 AM
You have to keep waiting sorry. Nothing has changed for anyone ! You can download your shows manually ( like the old days ) or wait for the feeds to be fixed. Once the feeds are fixed all your shows will download !
Caution you may go over your download limit if you download all your shows manually and then TVSHOWS 2 downloads them automatically when fixed !

Is there any 'easy' way to export your TV Shows' rss feeds to for example uTorrent?
That could be a temporary solution.
Thanks.
43 Posted by bill on Nov 17, 2013 @ 10:52 PM
I see little reason to reconfigure everything into custom subscriptions. We only lost 1 week of show info. Just go to thepiratebay.sx and download the ones you missed directly. New episodes (after the glitch) are already listed and downloading.

May I suggest putting a "status" line on the top of the discussion home page to indicate that the feeds are down? That way, we won't need to scroll through comments to find out if they were fixed for some people, and others won't clog the discussions with more posts. Something like the Netflix down page, i.e., Status: down.
Then, when things are fixed, people still having problems will know the issue is on their end and follow up.

I LOVE THIS IDEA !
it would save a thousand people asking the same questions and Christina would get her life back !
A green light would mean all is good , a yellow light would mean some folks are having trouble and a red light would mean the feeds are down for everyone !

Bill - how can you determine if new shows are downloading? None of mine have dates post-glitch...is it just the episodes I've chosen to subscribe to?
47 Posted by bachel on Nov 19, 2013 @ 06:45 PM
Thx for version 2.1 now I have Two Questions
1. Is the Feed fixed also ?
2. As soon as the feed is fixed will Tvshows download all the missing Episodes from last week or not ?
Sorry If I didnt get it out of all the Posts its a bit confusing
48 Posted by E on Nov 19, 2013 @ 08:24 PM
@bachel
1.) Not yet
2.) Yes
If you don't want to wait, check the "alternative app/feed" (http://support.tvshowsapp.com/discussions/problems/2812-alternative-appfeed) for alternative way to use TVShows.app

Not to get overly excited, but I just heard my imac robotic voice announce a transmission download - and sure enough - one of my shows actually got downloaded! Hope it's not a fluke and things are working again =)
I realized when it was broken just how much I love this app!
51 Posted by Fred on Nov 19, 2013 @ 09:18 PM
One of mine started downloading today too. but there's a whole bunch more that were missing, so I'm not sure the feed issue is fixed yet.
52 Posted by rodcockerell on Nov 19, 2013 @ 10:10 PM
Was the show that downloaded today a custom rss ?

Feeds are now starting to re-appear.
Just had 20 odd open up for me.
Well done to Victor for fixing what ever the issue was, and a MASSIVE THANK YOU to Cristina who has been excellent in the support area explaining what is going on and putting up with the stupidity of some users.
To both of you. Thank You.

Some new episodes do not show up at all. (The Good Wife, The Colbert Report)
Some show up, but are not automatically downloaded. (Castle, The Mentalist)
Some show up and are automatically downloaded. (Key & Peele)
56 Posted by Daniel on Nov 19, 2013 @ 11:26 PM
I'm hoping to get a little clarification on the lingering issues too mgnewman. About 2/3 of my shows (I only have 8 or so) started downloading again automatically a little while ago. I went and looked through some others like walking dead doesn't even list last Sunday's episode, I'm guessing this means that particular feed is still broken?
A few others like Raising Hope and How I Met Your Mother for me I can see the new episodes when I click the show in the app, but they aren't downloading when I do check for new shows. I'm wondering if I should click the arrow to force these to start or is it something that will fix itself with time. I'm just trying to avoid the app loosing place of where I am with the shows because honestly I have no idea what the last number episode of any of these I actually saw was before it started not working.
Also thank you very much Christina and Victor (and anyone else there I don't know about) for all the hard work. This is by far the best app I've downloaded in the past year, and I wouldn't want to be without it.
57 Posted by mgnewman on Nov 19, 2013 @ 11:56 PM
Right, Daniel. A bit frustrating. Since we've never been told the precise nature of the feeds problem (asked but not answered) it's difficult to ascertain exactly what's going on now.
I can understand some episodes not appearing yet. It takes time to build the database.
But, I do not understand why episodes that are listed are not automatically downloaded.

"Since we've never been told the precise nature of the feeds problem (asked but not answered) it's difficult to ascertain exactly what's going on now."
What the heck is wrong with you people? Pissing and moaning that you aren't being kept in the loop? Did you pay for this app? They owe no explanation to us, the end users. Except maybe to say, "It's broken" or "It's fixed". If you don't feel they communicate enough to you, find an alternative. I for one think that for a free app their service and information is more than adequate. It's disrespectful how some of you talk about the developer and the crew on here. Ungrateful for a tool which makes your life easier and better at no cost.
59 Posted by mgnewman on Nov 20, 2013 @ 12:21 AM
Yes, I paid for it.
I just happen to be curious. I'd like to know what's going on. Asking a question is not "pissing and moaning". Noting that a question was asked but not answered is not "pissing and moaning".
If a developer is going to accept donations for their work then they have an obligation to keep their supporters informed.
(I've donated twice, how about you?)
60 Posted by Melanie Mason on Nov 20, 2013 @ 12:26 AM
Well said Jeremy.
If some people bothered to take the time to actaully read through ALL of the posts from the begining you would see that the developers have actaully explained what has happend in detail, and we just need to excerise some patience whislt the issue is resolved.
