Anime + Plex

First off, I want to say how wonderful this software is, as it totally revolutionized the way I get TV shows! Secondly, I noticed that when I make an RSS for anime shows, the metadata is messed up. This is because anime and regular TV shows use a different episode numbering convention. Perhaps if you could give an option as to how to organize them (w/ no seasons, ep. 1 ep. 2...ep. 513 ep. 514 etc). Also, using this software with Plex would be fantastic! If you could further facilitate how these two work together it would be superb!

    Hi Aj,

Can you please tell me which Anime show do you follow? Maybe a RSS so I can try to work it out.

This should already work with Plex, but we are working to release a 3.0 version where there is more integration.

Ah I just saw this which is pretty similar to my post. Here's the RSS I'm using for One Piece:

    Here are the anime feeds:
    One Piece: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=rss&term=one+piece+horriblesubs
rules: episode name begins with "[HorribleSubs]"
    Bleach: http://www.nyaa.eu/?page=rss&term=bleach+horriblesubs
rules: episode name begins with "[HorribleSubs]"
And what I meant by Plex is that I have to constantly change the filename to a "S1E1" format everytime for the Media Server to get the right info. To better understand what I'm saying, look at how the numbering is different in these two sources: http://thetvdb.com/?tab=seasonall&id=81797&lid=7
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_One_Piece_episodes
Perhaps you can get TVShows to get the season/episode name info from wikipedia and compare to tvdb to rename it to a "S1E1" format. This is probably more of a Plex issue but I think TVShows can also fix it.

    Hi AJ,

Ok, I see what you mean. TVShows doesn't control how the scene releases their episodes, it only tries to just download them when they appear. Right now, when the episode start downloading TVShows doesn't do anything else, so it doesn't do anything with the files when they are downloaded.

In the future we plan to do something with the downloaded files, such as adding subtitles or renaming them. But right now the naming system is the original one that the scene uses. We don't know why they have those conventions, but it is what it is.

    Best regards!
