Are you in the market for a great used car on a limited budget? If so, you might be surprised at how many good cars are out there in that price range. Here’s a look at some great used cars that are affordable and reliable.

1. 2005 BMW 325i. For under $10,000, you probably never considered a BMW. But if you’re willing to go with a decade-old car, the 2005 325i could be yours. It’s got a stylish design and great suspension and steering. Though it’s not the latest 3-series complete with fancy LED lighting and a navigation screen, it’s still a BMW and it won’t bankrupt you.

2. 2007 Honda Fit. Though the Honda Fit may not be the prettiest of the fanciest car on the road, it’s a good mixture of affordability and practicality. It’s roomy and gets great mileage (about 35 mpg freeway). If you love the outdoors and like to stay busy, the Honda Fit is a great car because of how much you can store in the back.

3. 1999 Mercedes C43 AMG. Though the C-Class sedan might look conservative on the outside, there’s nothing conservative about the S-Class V-8 engine on the inside. Because the C43 AMG is pretty rare and most owners don’t want to part with them, expect to spend all $10,000 of your budget.

4. 2006 Mini Cooper S. Though not as popular in America, the Mini Cooper can be a fun car to drive. It’s definitely not the smoothest ride so if you don’t like a bumpy car consider a different car from this list. If you love to trick out your cars, the Mini Cooper is a modder’s dream.

5. Mitsubishi i-MiEV. If you’re interested in an electric vehicle, this will probably be the only one in your price range. It only gets about 60 miles on a free charge but that’s 60 miles of emissions-free driving knowing you’re not spending a penny on gas. It’s a great car for getting you around the city.

6. Porsche 944. If you’re a car enthusiast, why not spend your $10,000 on a Porsche. It shouldn’t be too hard to find a 944 in that price range even if you splurge on a higher performance S or S2 model.

7. Porsche Boxster. If you don’t mind a car that’s a bit older, $10,000 can get you a Porsche Boxster in the ’96-’99 model year range. It’s a convertible with excellent handling and serious acceleration.

8. Saab 9-2X. The Saab 9-2X is an often overlooked car. But it’s a great mix of affordability, practicality, and performance. Remember to purchase high quality insurance for your new-to-you car. Call (844) 810-4193 for an affordable quote.
