We prefer not to use the file format for two reasons: most
people don't know what they are (and probably don't care, as long
as they can open and play them), but most of all, TVShows doesn't
know the file format before downloading.

Anyway, can you give us examples of episodes you get in .avi? I
am subscribed to my shows in SD and I haven't seen many .avi files
since last year, and they're mostly late night shows (which are
quite erratic).

Cristina Gómeztag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/297615632014-03-15T19:24:34Z2014-03-15T19:24:35ZFile format preferences

I'm having this issue too, but just the last episodes of how i
met your mother (s09e20) modern family (s05e17), the big bang
theory (s07e18). Mainly the torrents have this [www.Torrenting.com] prefix to the
folder name, so i suppose it has to be related to the source.

Carlostag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/297615632014-03-15T21:14:40Z2014-03-15T21:14:41ZFile format preferences

I'd like to bump this for discussion. Recently, 90% of my
torrents are coming in from www.Torrenting.com and they are
always in MKV. I don't want MKVs - I'd prefer AVI or MP4. If it's
not possible to filter by format, is there a possibility to select
your preferred source?

Travistag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/297615632014-03-16T21:18:59Z2014-03-16T21:19:00ZFile format preferences

+1 I think it would be good so specify preferred file types. Or
as suggested, what file types you do not want...

Martintag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/297615632014-03-24T11:34:51Z2014-03-24T11:34:53ZFile format preferences

I agree, and would definitely appreciate file format
preferences.

For anyone using apple tv, avi, mkv, etc. don’t work and
anything that is downloaded that isnt .mp4 has to be found and
downloaded again.

Philiptag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/297615632014-05-22T17:55:36Z2014-05-22T17:55:38ZFile format preferences

I second this motion! :)

It would be amazing to have file type choice!
recently I have been downloading a lot of .mkv and I'm only
interested on having them on .avi or .mp4... :/

Thanks a lot for such a wonderful tool that you have created,
TVShowsApp team! :)

Serg
