Making TVShows a startup option
Hi Victor, always me here ^. I was wondering if there was a way to get the Mac to start-up TVShows every time it is powered up. Being some sort of a newb, I do not know how to do it, and sometimes when I am away the Mac would reboot (power failures etc etc) and coming back home without my beloved shows is just to much ^....
On another topic, is there a way to 'sync' the preferences (i.e. shows list as well as download history) on different computers?
thanks!

Actually, the background process does launch every time you power up your Mac. At least it should, if you find yours doesn't please run this on a Terminal window and send us the result (they're two separate commands):
ls -l ~/Library/LaunchAgents/
ls -l ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.victorpimentel.TVShowsHelper.plist
On your other question, you can sync shows and downloads across several computers by using the Miso feature, you can read about it in our blog. But keep in mind that it's a little unstable, if your internet connection fails, subscriptions may be lost. So it's safer to make a regular copy of your subscriptions file, which is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/TVShows 2/ (note: the Library folder is hidden in Lion, to access that you need to click Go -> Go to folder in the Finder menu and then paste the complete folder route).

Permissions seem to be alright, can you run this?
launchctl load ~/Library/LaunchAgents/com.victorpimentel.TVShowsHelper.plist
It should return an error because it is already running (if not, it will be running now). Then restart and run it again, if it returns the same error then the background process is correctly loading upon system start up.

I assume TVShows is enabled in the preference pane...
I detail the steps to reinstall TVShows, I hope this is a quick fix for resolving your issue (preferences cannot be imported, you have to manually set them, sorry):
A quick way to see if the background process is running or not without having to use the Terminal would be to enable the menubar icon in TVShows. It will show up whenever the background process is running.
Thank you for your support!

thanks - even after the whole reinstall shebang, I did not manage to get the preferences to restart. will try one more time. otherwise, no issues and will just wait for the next version!
