Heyo!

First thing's first... Great job on the app! :)

I use tvtorrents as a tracker and I find it tedious that I need to customize every time I need to add a tv show.
I would like it if my custom rss could be set as default so that I'm only two clicks away from adding a new show.

One way is if you could add a rss-setup under preferences, allowing to add one or more rss to be default (with different priorities perhaps?).
Another solution is that you add a "save as default"-button to the edit view next to the Feed URLs.

However you do it...
One suggestion is that the user can specify where the tvshow-title variable should be added to the rss-urls.
For instance, the user could add:
http://tvshowsapp.com/feed/?filter=$TVSHOWNAME$%20eztv&userName...
http://theusersawesometracker.com/rss/tvshowtitle=$TVSHOWNAME$

...and the app would then replace $TVSHOWNAME$ with the (url encoded) name of the tv show.

This would make the UI-experience even more delightful when using a custom rss.

    Hi!
I was searching the suggestions looking for exactly this!
I believe there are many more than nadangergeo and me who really wish this feature will be implemented in a future release.
Full TVT-support would be very welcome.

    Thanks in advance :)

Full tvtorrents support would be nice indeed! :) Too bad that the tvtorrents RSS is so limited, it would be nice if we could get a rss feed for each show (using a url parameter). That way, we could pretty much download any episode or complete season (for shows that are added to the tvshows app) from tvtorrents using the app.

By the way (and little of topic): I sent the admins over at tvt a message using the contact-form asking for that kind of RSS feed, but I haven't received an answer yet. You should do that as well :)

    Hi, sorry for the delay.

Right now the app is created with the rule of "one show per feed", and as you notice there is not really a nice way to add several shows from one RSS. In the current form the alternatives are:

    • Add a new custom rss for each show, putting the same url over an over. It can be quite boring, I know. The "good" thing is that TVShows caches RSS so even if you have 200 subscriptions to the same URL, that URL will only need to be checked once to check all subscriptions.
    • Add one custom rss for several shows. This is supported though it may be ugly. Just choose "Any of the following are true" and add as many rules as shows you want.

In the future, I need to think how to implement that in a way that it is easier for power users but that doesn't hurt the normal user. Probably the first step will be to just use a plain text for storing the subscriptions so that you can do whatever you want.

Hmm, I think I have a pretty easy solution.

The RSS feeds which contains several tvshows usually has attributes like TV Show Title, Season, Episode etc. Right? Is it possible to let tvshowsapp use these attributes to handle each item in the feed as different TV Show...

I suggest a new behavior that could be an option when adding a custom RSS, a multi feed-option if you will :P

    • If the "Save each show in its own folder" option is enabled: It should download to the TV Show sub folders using the Title of the show, instead of the title of the subscription, which it does now.

    • It should use the cover art for the specific show on a Growl message, instead of the the general grey image.

    • The grey image for the subscription could be replaced by a small collage of different TV Shows' cover arts, suggesting multiple tv shows in the feed.

Let me know what you think :)
