<p>Thank you for this application. It might save some time in the
future and what is more valuable than time?<br>
It does not work as I had hoped though. There are issues that make
it less of set-and-forget than I`d wish.</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>Sometimes I get an error message that the internet connection
might not be on although it is and Transmission is also running
already.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>Transmission does not automatically download. Instead I am asked
to select the save location. I am aware that I could change this in
Transmission<code>s preferences, but this would not be good for
material other than TV shows. A solution would be that I install
another torrent client only for TV shows and have TVShows send the
torrents to the torrent app that I select in its preferences. I
think this currently isn</code>t possible.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>I don<code>t want to have my torrent client started by TVShows.
It should only add new torrents to the torrent client if the
torrent client is already running. The reason is that I have
torrents on an external drive that is not always mounted when I log
in. If Transmission starts before the drive is mounted, I will get
an error message and I manually have to re-activate quite a number
of torrents. I have tried TVShows today for the first time and
don</code>t know if it would start Transmission if a new episode is
available and Transmission isn`t running already. If it does this
by default, I would like to switch this behavior in its
preferences.</p>

</ol></div>annoying customertag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/242590712013-01-29T15:04:53Z2013-01-29T15:04:53ZMy first impression<div><p>Hi annoying customer (weird name, users who have questions are
not annoying at all ;) ),</p>
<p>Let's see if I can explain/solve your issues:</p>
<ol>
<li>
<p>The internet connection message is usually displayed when
TVShows doesn't have access to the torrent file. If you have
internet connection, then your ISP is probably blocking The Pirate
Bay, which is where most of our torrents come from. If that's the
case, you need to activate the "prioritize magnets" option in
TVShows preferences, this way access to TPB is not needed. But keep
reading, this option is incompatible with the solution to your
issue #3 :(</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>This issue is strange combined with #1, usually when one happens
the other one doesn't. This happens when you have "same as torrent"
as the destination folder in Transmission and you activated magnets
in TVShows. Since with magnets there is no torrent file,
Transmission doesn't know where "same as torrent" is and it needs
to ask you every time where to save each file.</p>
</li>
<li>
<p>TVShows has an option to "automatically open torrent files after
downloading" (this option launches your torrent manager even if it
isn't running), if you uncheck that it will only download the
torrent files to the destination folder set in TVShows and you can
manage that folder however you want. But as I said in #1, this is
not compatible with magnets. The reason is simple: with magnets
there is no torrent file, so TVShows can only launch the torrent
manager or do nothing at all, it can't go half way. On the other
hand, leaving magnets aside, if your destination folder is not
mounted TVShows could not even download a torrent file there.</p>
</li>
</ol>
<p>For your configuration, I would suggest the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>Activate magnets so you don't depend on access to TPB.</li>
<li>Keep TVShows off and manually activate it when you know the
external device is mounted.</li>

handy to auto-organize you're downloaded torrents/magnet links.</p>
<p>I currently have set it up so that the 'TV' group automatically
assigns this group to new transfers based on criteria. This group
also has a 'custom location' so all TV shows go to a certain
location.</p>
<p>The criteria I use you can see in the attached screenshot.</p>
<p>Again it might not work 100% of the time but it should work
<em>most</em> of the time.</p></div>Manutag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/242590712013-02-15T19:01:03Z2013-02-15T19:01:03ZMy first impression<div><p>piratebay.se is not blocked.<br>
I do occasionally have particular episodes of shows (shameless US,
person of interest for example) that can`t be downloaded with tv
shows while the other episodes work.<br>
Example: Person of Interest S2 E13<br>
Unsubscribing the show and adding again does not solve this.</p>
<p>By the way: <a href="http://www.eztv.it">www.eztv.it</a> is a
tracker specialized in tv shows. Would work as an alternative in
case PB is really blocked.</p></div>annoying customertag:support.tvshowsapp.com,2011-10-12:Comment/242590712013-02-15T19:02:42Z2013-02-15T19:02:43ZMy first impression<div><p>"annoying customer" is the name of a cat in the movie Clerks
which is highly recommended (don`t bother Clerks 2 or Mallrates

<p>Sorry for the late reply. Is this still happening? If it is,
could you send us the log (About tab -> View logs, please paste
the content into a text file and attach it to the message) and
point out the episodes that cause the error message?</p></div>Cristina Gómez
