Website Language?

Hey, I'm a long time user of TV Shows and absolutely LOVE it. I recently started looking at the source code to help with the development as I too do a lot of software development. I was wondering however, how was the website created? Did you use a CMS or built it from scratch in HTML? I love the look and feel, it's very mac-like and I'd like to create one similar for myself but it'd be nice to know how.
