Updated itself? Doesn't open.

I've been using TV Shows on my G5 iMac OS 10.5.8 for some time now with no problems.

All of a sudden I get this prompt:

You cannot open TVShows preferences because it doesn't work on a PowerPC-based Mac.

I didn't update anything...
any ideas what's going on?

    I downloaded and tried to install it again and it said it could not be opened or replaced...or somesuch thing...
    I then rebooted and now it's working again...
    huh.
