Episodes downloaded over and over again.

In the latest version (downloaded yesterday) I have a TV show called "30 Grader i Februari". It is downloaded trough a RSS feed that only contains this tv show, nothing else.

The first 2 episodes I downloaded manually, and the third episode was downloaded trough TVShows.app which worked fine. But now, (after the update), when the 4th episode is getting downloaded it downloads all 4 episodes. EVERY TIME. So every 30 minute it downloads the same 4 torrents file.

I am having the same problem. I am using a private tracker rss feed for each of my shows and now the application downloads 100+ torrents every 30 minutes. I've had to disable the app for now, is it possible to find out why this is happening? It seems as if it is not remembering which torrents it has already downloaded.

    Hi,

We have a known bug that's similar to what you explain, sometimes the app can download old episodes more than once, but we've never heard of it downloading old episodes every time it checks for new ones.

Can you tell us which naming convention do these shows use? Is it a "standard" one like SXXEXX or SSxEE, or a different one?

Also, can you send us the log (About tab -> View logs), some examples of shows with this issue and their RSS URLs?

    Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thank you for the reply! All my shows use the SXXEXX convention

I use a private tracker for my RSS feed, so I've downloaded an example RSS and attached it as an xml file to this reply as well as a log!

The log only contains a bit of it since I didn't think you needed to see all 100+ torrents that are being continuously downloaded!

Please do let me know if I can provide any more information!

It's definitely using the SXXEXX format in the tag. It's from a private RSS tracker, is it possible to send this to you somehow instead of publishing it here?

I'm having a similar problem, I edited the RSS feeds to use an EZTV feed (didn't like getting RARs from time to time), and it was working fine until I updated the prefpane a couple of days ago.

Now, my torrent application is downloading multiple copies of some shows, and many of them are 720p, despite TV Shows being set to download SD stuff.

Luckily I get unlimited bandwidth from my ISP...

Same here, getting a bunch of mkvs and rars for two shows where I'm using a default feed that references eztv (http://tvshowsapp.com/feed/?filter=showname%20eztv&userName=eztv), but no new episodes exist on eztv. Updated this morning.

One thing I've noticed it that the sort name element in my Subscriptions (~Library/Application Support/Subscriptions) doesn't update for the only show that keeps getting downloaded over and over again, the value stays at:

    30 Grader i Februari30 Grader I Februari S01E03

Since it downloads 4 episodes at the same time e01, e02, e03 and e04 the value should really be e04 in the sort name. But it doesn't explain why i get e01-e03 every update

    Hi all,

The new version changed the way we handle the custom RSS. Now we don't look if we have downloaded an episode, we just store the date of the last downloaded episode and then download all "new" episodes. This change made sense for allowing feeds with several shows in them.

The problem you are having is that your feeds do not have a proper date (I bet there is no pubDate information for every RSS item), so TVShows thinks all episodes are new. If you want, please downgrade to the previous version:

    http://tvshowsapp.com/files/TVShows-591.zip

In the next version I'll try to fix it to handle your case.

    Cheers!
