In lieu of a working app
Somebody mentioned Otomatic in another thread, so I gave it a try and was very impressed! Seems well supported too - I contacted the developer and he gave me a coupon that they've specifically been giving to people migrating from TVShows: TVSHOWS

FYI, TVShows is working again...at least for my setup (I only use it for custom subscriptions).

I use tvshow with custom subscriptions only too but i can't make it to work with kat.cr rss feeds, the only thing i get from tvshows app when i try to download something from kat is a spinning ball and an error message, am i doing somthing wrong? and if i may, which rss feed server do you use with tvshows?

I'm getting the same thing now...again. It worked for about a day, then went back to having problems. I really don't think it is TVShows, but how KAT.cr is processing their rss feeds.

yeah it's KAT... luckily showrss' feed works, but with it no custom feeds at all, I've been looking for an alternative but i didn't find anything good enough to replace KAT. let's hope KAT fix this problem, I've read it's effecting a lot of apps.

I have set up Vuze to use with KAT and it does work. Not as clean or intuitive as TVShows, but does work with KAT (and TPB)

Me too. But it's the only solution I have found that works with the same functionality using KAT as the feed. I tried Otomatic, and simply put, it does the same as showRSS using Catch. But for custom subscriptions (using KAT), Vuze is the only option I've found that doesn't require "babysitting" or manually downloading.

The best solution I've found is http://showrss.info , it's basically a free online version of tvshows that pairs with an unobtrusive showsrss app on your computer and works like a charm to download each and every episode of your favorite shows.

I don't really understand much of what you guys are saying.
We used Vuze for some time. Then tvshows. It stopped working and couldn't find new shows.
I tried otomatic. Found them very unhelpful. I guess I asked too many questions.
Has anyone had any contact from anyone at tvshows?

Tvshows developer team have abandoned the project so it has stopped working, if you want an easy alternative try showers.info. Create a free account, select your shows then download a free app that will download torrents of your shows as soon as they come out - using whatever torrent program you have .
