Time to move on

It would appear the app is dying a slow death. No new show additions, the pipes no longer works and no word from support or the Dev. It would even appear the users are slowly going away. It might be time to look at another option like CATCH. It wont allow custom RSS feeds but it has most of the shows and can download to individual folders. For custom RSS feeds you might be able to use AUTOMATIC. none of these options are a elegant as TVShows - but for lack of a better option. Unless someone can create a new pipe to allow TVShows to work again - it's pretty much dead.

I'm using other pipes instead of The one suggested by this site and i'm getting new shows downloaded this way. I think other people is doing The same with shows of their interests, so What if we share our pipes of rss links (the manually added ones) with other users?

    Hi,

For new shows or shows that don't work any more, I don't use the pipe.

    I use a RSS feed from http://showrss.info.
I've added all the shows I want, then generate a RSS feed url with all the parameters I want (quality, proper version). And something important, in my account settings, I have disable the magnet links.

Next, for each tv show you want, you have to add it to TVShows with the "+ RSS feed" button, put your feed, add the Name and the search the correct id on tvdb. After that, You have to add a rule on episode name, like Episode name begins with "Falling" for Falling skies.

For me, it works for new show and broken one. Some times I have it download twice, but it's better than nothing.

What is the application "Catch?" The name is too common to sort out in a Google search.

Catch is an app that works in conjunction with showRSS. You set up your shows on showRSS.info, install catch (available here: https://github.com/mipstian/catch/releases) and catch will automatically download your selected shows from showRSS.

Ihave switched over to showrss + catch and am not looking back. Some shows aren't available and I now have to download manually, but there are few, and in most cases these shows were flaky with tvshows2 and I had to download them manually most of the time anyway. At least the ones showers does support work fantastic! Not a single issue yet and I've been using it for a few months.

I want to thank the debs of tvshows app for their hard work, but clearly they have moved on, and now so have I.
