It's been ages since support has auctioned these forums. I think they are now abandoned which might indicate the app is dead

This pipe still seems active. Just not reaching the pirate bay at the moment

    Have you tried other feeds?

The pipes goes to thepiratebay.se or thepiratebay.org. Neither I can get to at the moment even with a VPN.

I can get to the pirate bay fine (using Google DNS), but the Yahoo pipe definitely doesn't work right now.
Tvshowsapp's regular feeds (i.e. the non-customized ones) work OK, but with those it's not possible to customize further, e.g. to ensure "download in HD" excludes 720p streams.... we need the Yahoo pipes for that.
Without them, it's back to fully manual downloads for me. Quite a bummer, it's a huge waste of time for me.
I don't know any alternatives which give me tvshowsapp's functionality AND allows me to filter out certain resolutions, codecs, etc. like this app does.
I know it's not tvshowsapp's fault (the pipe is running at Yahoo), but still without the pipe, the app won't work for me....
Why can't the developers just include a 1080p option right in the app, then I can stop using the Yahoo pipes altogether !!
It's gotta be possible, they put "download only in HD" there already, sure they can add "1080p only" or something like that...

It's just unfortunate that support doesn't visit here any more. Looks like we're on our own.

    Yep, that's too bad...

I switched to SickBeard which is not as simple but still great and a bit more tweakable !
(I took this fork https://github.com/junalmeida/Sick-Beard because it supports torrents better).

I've tried pinging TPB which I think is 193.113.9.167
    And it times out

Try feeds from elsewhere. I mean they don´t have to be Yahoo pipes do they?

I refer to the pipes because that is what us used for the custom show feeds in the app

Maybe someone else would like to try feeds that are not Yahoo pipes, because the pipes are clearly and sadly not working at the moment. I myself am interested to hear if the app custom downloading works at least to some degree, I just do not have the time to try it out at the moment, maybe later...

Sick Beard not an option, its Torrents support is awful, works only with members-only trackers (except for EZRSS, but that's broken), and with usenet / newsgroups which I 'd rather not do.
TVShowsApp with the Yahoo Pipes was doing ok. We could do without those pipes if only the devs would add some more options in the app (using their own feeds), e.g. allow forcing 720P or 1080p downloads.

It's looking more and more like the devs have abandoned us though.

In addition to using showRSS (very easy to set up) with Catch 1.7, I've come up with a suitable work around in the meantime...not as great as a TPB Yahoo Pipe, but it does work.
1 - Go to TPB and click on the RSS symbol at the bottom of the page.
2 - Under "Video", locate "TV Shows" and right click on the RSS symbol
    3 - Copy that link
4 - Go to TVShows and add a custom subscription
5 - Paste the link into the feed URL
6 - In "Only download items matching the following rules" select episodeName, contains, then add individual search criteria (such as the subscription name)
REMEMBER to add an episodeName rule for each individual criteria such as:
    episodeName, contains, The
    episodeName, contains, Amazing
    episodeName, contains, Race

This will download EVERYTHING uploaded in TPB that matches the criteria you enter...EVERY new episode (depending on how detailed you get with your filter)

Hope this helps in the mean time.

Just discovered that the same concept works with KickAss Torrents also!

Just remember to specify details in the filters :)
Yes, using torrent sites seems to be very useful.
Now, tell me what happens if you add more than one custom feed url. Will the item download more that once or?

Bob - yep, just like with other customs, it's going to download all that match the criteria set up...not a perfect solution, but you can get CLOSE results by adding enough filters.

At least that is what I've found.

Still not working for me, only if I "prioritize magnetic links". However, this way I lose the "save each show in its own folder" / "create season subfolders" options. :(
