HD vs SD
In the last couple of weeks, TVShows has automatically given me the torrents of HD shows when I have requested to only get SD shows. I have set up each show with the "Download in HD" box unchecked. Any idea how to fix this?

Same here. All my preferences read that I should have SD as the preferred option, but all shows are download as HD.
Hope this can be addressed.

I'm just joining in to say I'm having the same problem. It started yesterday or maybe two days ago just out of the blue.

I have the same problem as well. I have actually turned the app off as it is pushing my download limits

Same problem. Came here to see if anyone had a solution for it, but guess it also helps to know that others have this issue.

Hi,
Same issue for me:
I believe something in the Mavericks update (10.9.2) caused this as this is when the issue began? (I could be wrong but happened around the same time - start of March 2014)
Fantastic app by the way - here's hoping the issue will be resolved soon :)

I'm still on 10.9.1, so the update isn't to blame. The only thing I updated lately is iTunes.

Same issue here. Everything is in HD instead of SD. Still on Mountain Lion here as well.

Just want to add another voice. I came here looking for a solution but am happy to see that I am not alone so there may be a fix. :)

This has been happening for me too in the last week and a bit, I'm on Mountain Lion. Hoping for a fix soon! HD isn't bad but I like to be able to download shows quickly.

I was about to create a post for this 'problem' but figured I would check first... and looks like I am not the only one. Add me to the list of "I am getting HD versions and do not want them."

I've already posted a few comments in here, but I want to add a few more observations...
A day or two ago it worked great and my downloads were the appropriate file size. Then it went back to HD. Then one day it downloaded both the low-res and the HD version of a certain show (i can't remember which show it was).
The next time something comes up with the wrong download i'm going to check the rss feed and see if something is wrong there.

Yup me too. Multiple shows downloading both SD and HD versions. My guess is that the RSS feeds that its using have been changed and are causing the anomaly. I now manually enable and disable tvshows app every couple of days so I can stay on top of this as I have very low bandwidth caps. I doubt this is going to be rectified anytime soon though :(

Exact same issue, HD 720p for every show, dunno what to do. It's chomping my storage!

Lots more weirdness today. Many shows downloading in both HD and SD as well as many shows downloading old episodes. I could switch tvshows off and on manually but that kind of defeats the purpose of what, until recently, has been nothing short of an astonishingly good program. If I knew more about how the searches worked I'd have a try at setting up some manually to compare results. However, all the ones I have tried to set up in the past have produced even more erratic results than we are seeing now.
Roll on version 3. :-)

Seems to have fixed itself. All SD all the time now

Still getting duplicate HD downloads alongside my preferred SD downloads.

My shows all coming through as normal for the past 10 days as well. Seems to have fixed itself or some background fix occurred
Happy days :)
