Nothing seems to work?
Hi all.
I've only recently installed TVShows and I love the idea of it and
am really eager to make it work! It worked autonomously a couple of
times but since then has stopped. Even if I try and click the
manual download button nothing then pops up in my BitTorrent client
(uTorrent).
I've been though all the trouble shooting and suggestions on here,
I'm pretty confident I have it set up right but still get nothing?
TV Shows even tells me that a show was 'last downloaded on' the
date of the last episode, but when I look for it I can find neither
the torrent or the show.
I've disabled my Firewall, I'm using magnet links as in the UK,
uTorrent is working fine when I manually add torrents from
EZTV.
TVShows shows updated show lists with the most recent episodes but
does not download automatically and will not respond when I try to
hit the manual download button.
I've tried uninstall and reinstall and get the same results.
And... interestingly, the logs show that TVShows has downloaded the
torrent...?
Any thoughts or suggestions would be really useful.
Thanks!

Hi joebourton,
Sorry for the late reply. We are having an issue with magnet links, some of them work but some don't (and we haven't found the cause yet, it's somewhat random), we are looking into it. The log doesn't show any error because there's no feedback of what happens when TVShows triggers the torrent app (with torrent files, if the torrent cannot be saved there's an error, but this isn't the case for magnet links, since they are not "real" links).

Hi Mel,
Since it's the app that's having the issue, there's not much you can do but wait for the developer to fix it (he's on it).
The issue happens only when using magnet links, so if your ISP isn't blocking The Pirate Bay the obvious workaround is to turn off magnets (there's an option in TVShows preferences) at least temporarily. But if your ISP is blocking TPB then you will not be able to download without magnets.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

thanks - thats makes sense now - i'll turn off those magnet links and see what happens. i use TPB for other stuff so should be ok.
Cheers

Hi all,
The issue has been solved. It turns out the problem wasn't with the app, but with the feeds, since we rebuilt the database (if you remember, we had a long downtime about a month ago) the magnet links were being cropped and sometimes they generated invalid URLs. We raised the length limit for magnet links in the database so it shouldn't happen again, if you activate magnets now TVShows should be able to download every new episode. As for past episodes, we have to fix them manually so I don't know when they will work again (so you better download them from somewhere else, maybe you already have). Again, sorry for the inconvenience!
I'm closing this discussion now, if you are still having issues please open a new one explaining them with all the details you can and, if possible, attaching the log (About tab -> View logs, please paste the content into a text file), and we'll take a look.
