The app will download both SD and HD version

As I wrote in the subject, tvshowsapp keeps downloading both versions of tv shows. I cannot say if this happens with every tv show, but I'm sure it happens every week with Elementary. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Hi Antonio,

    Sorry for the inconvenience, we had a rough couple of weeks and whenever there is a long feed downtime, TVShows gets up to speed as soon as things get back to normal, catching up with episodes relaeased during the downtime, and it may download both the SD and the HD versions, but it should not happen again after this.

    Since we are just overcoming a massive downtime and your issue may be related to that, please allow me to put this on hold... if it happens again with this week's episode, send us the log (About tab -> View logs, please paste the content into a text file and attach it to the message) and we will take a further look.

    Until then, the one thing you should check is if Elementary is a custom subscription (since double downloads are more common in those subscriptions, because TVShows doesn't check the episode number for those subscriptions), if you see a green gear icon over the show image then it is a custom subscription (you may have accidentally converted it into a custom subscription, if you didn't intend that, just unsubscribe and subscribe again from the preset list).

    Hi there,

    I'm having the same issue :-(

    Not on every subscription just does it randomly with different shows, I've followed the step that you posted but that didn't work to resolve it.

    Will there be a fix? its eating up my traffic…

    Hi Jase,

    Sorry for the late reply... if would really help if you could send us the log (About tab -> View logs, please paste the content into a text file and attach it to the message) as I asked Antonio, and also the Susbcriptions file (located in ~/Library/Application Support/TVShows 2/). Without more information it's not easy to know what's happening :(

    I've attached the log and the Subscriptions file. You can see that both HD and SD versions of both Castle and The Mentalist were downloaded.

    Hi all,

    mgnewman, thanks so much for the files. I think I know what is causing the double downloads but unfortunately I don't know why it's happening or how to solve it. It would help if other users sent in their Subscription files and provided a couple of examples of duplicate downloads to recheck my theory, but anyway, I asked the developer for suggestions on the important questions: why and how to solve it ;)

    thanks Cristina, I thought I had fixed it by unsubscribing and then resubscribing…however it didn't seem to wrk for very long…I couldn't find the tvshows folder in the library for some reason...

    Still a problem - just got Teen Wolf and Revolution in both SD and HD.
    Any idea when a fix might be possible?

    Problem continues here, as well. But there's little consistency. Sometimes I'll get duplicate copies of an episode and then go for many episodes without a duplicate.

    This week I got duplicate episodes of a Colbert, a Daily Show and Midsomer Murders. But the vast majority of episodes were downloaded without being duplicated.

    Last few days it's only been grabbing the 720P versions of shows. I checked settings to make sure nothing got flipped.

    Any update on this, it is happening ever so often now.

    You mentioned as quoted below that you may know what is causing the problem.

    Could you at least share that pl., right now seems counterproductive :/

    Btw I did change the settings as per the below instructions to always download HD:

    A huge value (i.e. 1.000.000) can be used to avoid downloading any SD fallback, useful if you want to manually download the HD version.
    In terminal I input the below:
    defaults write com.victorpimentel.TVShows2 AnyVersionInterval -float 1.000.000

    Could this be the problem, now both SD and HD versions download by default for the past week.
