Porn disguised as House of Cards
This evening new episode of House of Cards was waiting for me, but when it has finished downloading I realized that it has downloaded a porn movie instead.

Hi all,
I just checked our feed for House of Cards and it doesn't have a new episode. A few things that might have happened:
If none of that is the case, please send us the log (About tab -> View logs, please paste the content into a text file and attach it to the message) so we can take a look.
Sorry for the inconvenience.

Same here.
Not using a custom subscription (no idea what the gear icon means, don't see that anywhere, but the show is in the preset list and not the custom)
Additional sources are off.
The download is named "www.Torrenting.com - House.Of.Cards.2013.S01E11.MULTi.1080p.BluRay.x264-AiRTV", the file inside it is "wcx.13.11.05.alicija.dark.and.nataly.von.mov"
Attached the log.

Hi all,
Thanks for the log, Chuck. Usually when fakes come up they "invent" episodes (in this case the fake I'd expect would be 1x14 or 2x01), and since I didn't see a "new" episode in the feed I thought there wasn't, but from your log I see the fake episode is 1x11, which is an existing episode that wasn't available before (your TVShows sees it as "new", because the only available episodes in SD until now were 1x01 through 1x06, that's why it's downloading it... I had a previous download of 1x13 so I didn't get this fake, because for my TVShows it was "old").
This is indeed a bogus file, so for that, I apologize... the thing is, it comes from TVTeam, which is usually a reliable source, so I don't understand how that happened (maybe they got hacked...), there are no comments on the TPB page so far. Please understand that we cannot check every single torrent on our feeds, we base them on renowned reliable sources and the least thing we expect is for them to upload fakes... anyway, I have asked the developer to take down the link, unfortunately the downside of automatic downloading is that it has already been downloaded for most of the users.
Again, sorry for the inconvenience.

Answer 1: it must be your fault, you messed with the settings
Answer 2: oh I guess not, but I can't do anything about it, look forward to the next time it happens!

Hi cranston,
First of all, you know what kind of app you're using, right? It's not like we get the episodes directly from the producers of the shows. It's called The Pirate Bay for a reason.
Second, I made an honest mistake. The "new" episode is not listed at the top of the feed so I didn't see it at first, I didn't know it was a "previous" episode (that's why I asked for the log). But anyway, I never said it was your fault, I just pointed out the two most common reasons why users can get bogus files. Yes, the most common are those two and not a renowned uploader posting porn with a fake name (I've been a TVShows user for almost 7 years and this is the first time it has happened).
Third, no we cannot do anything about it, but we will do our best avoiding it in the future. If that means getting rid of TVTeam as a source, we may... but if we get rid of sources just because they make one mistake (or get hacked, I don't know yet what happened), we might end missing a looot of episodes. For example, I just found out that somebody at EZTV/LOL screwed up the naming this week and uploaded a file named "Revolution S02E07" which was actually an episode of CSI. If we delete EZTV from our sources we might as well call it quits, since they carry most of the shows.
Last, I could have said that we will fix it and it will not happen again, but I prefer to be as honest and transparent as possible. The world of ripping/pirating cannot ever be 100% reliable, nor it is in any way guaranteed. Everything you download from TPB or other similar sites, be it manually or automatically (with TVShows or with other apps), is at your own risk.

Cranston,
if you don’t like the service, don’t use it. Plain and simple. I started this topic solely for the purpose of pointing out that something has slipped through the cracks and should be removed (that particular torrent, not the whole service). As a web dev I know that things like this happen more than most people are aware of. Anyway, kudos to TVShows team for making this as effortless as possible.
