cannot get previous torrents anymore

I subscribed a early episode of a tv show in the list,but the torrents didn't be download.Why? Did I do something wrong?

   Hi Bella,

   I don't understand exactly what you mean. You subscribed to a tv show from an old episode and all the episodes between the latest one and that one didn't download? Try unsubscribing from that show and subscribing to it again.

   Yes, I subscribed to a tv show from an old episode and all the episodes between the latest one and that one didn't download. I already tried many times to unsubscribe and subscribe. It's not working. And I also tried subscribing from other tv shows in the same way, but nothing changed. It also didn't download.
   When I used the TV shows 1,there's no such problem.

   Are you in Italy? There The Pirate Bay is blocked (you can check if you have it blocked by clicking this link), so you need to check the "prioritize magnet links" option in TVShows Preferences so it can work.

   I have setting down the "prioritize magnet links" option, but It's still not working. And now I can't even get the latest torrents. I saw a new episode on the list, so I checked up.But nothing show up.It's making me crazy.

   Hi bella,

   Sorry, we don't understand your problem. Can you send us the log (it's in the About tab -> View logs, you can select all, paste it in a txt file and attach it to the discussion) and tell us when did you "see a new episode on the list, so I checked up" and which episode did you see in the list so we can identify it in the log?

   Also, can you attach screenshots of your preferences?

   I have attached the log and the screenshot below.

   I saw "The closer" s07e13 on the list then checked up early today.

   Thank you for all your help. I really hope that problem can be solved.

   Your preferences seem ok (only one little problem: since you're using magnets to download content, you cannot use the "save each show in its own folder" feature, since it uses Transmission feature "same as torrent" destination folder and with magnets there are no torrent files), which torrent client do you use to download content? Can you go to EZTV.it and click on any "U" (magnet icon) link to see what happens?

   I see references to the old version of TVShows in the log, I don't really know why, would you mind uninstalling TVShows completely and then reinstalling TVShows 2 from scratch to see if this solves your issue? Please follow these steps:

   • If you have any subscriptions, backup the folder ~/Library/Application Support/TVShows 2/
   • Empty the trash, if it isn't empty.
   • Go to the About tab, click the uninstall button.
   • Open System Preferences (not TVShows PrefPane), if the PrefPane is still there, right click it and remove it.
   • Download the latest legacy version (0.4.8r2) from GitHub: https://github.com/downloads/victorpimentel/TVShows/TVShows_0.4.8r2..., inside you will find an uninstaller, run it and afterwards move the TVShows.app to the trash.
   • Empty the trash.
   • Download the latest version from our website: http://tvshowsapp.com/TVShows.zip , and install it (if prompted, select "only for this user").
   • Copy the backup of your subscriptions into the Application Support folder and set your preferences.

   I uninstalled and reinstalled by these steps.Nothing changed so far.

   Safari can't open any "U" link on EZTV.it (I attached the screenshot below.) But I can download shows by clicking on those bottom.

    Ok, now your log seems clean. The problem are still the magnet links, your Mac doesn't recognize them so TVShows won't work. I'll ask again: which torrent client do you use? Does it support magnet links? If not, please download Transmission. When you're able to click any "U" link in EZTV.it and the content loads in your torrent client, TVShows will work fine.

    Here's one more little question. If I would like to keep the seed file to download it later, what should I do?

    Hi bella,

    I'm glad we worked it out, now TVShows will automatically download future episodes too ;)

    The thing is, with magnet links there is no seed file, the link provides all the information needed to download the final file. What you can do if you want to manually control when episodes are downloaded is uncheck the "Start transfers when added" option in Transmission (it's in Preferences -> Transfers), this way TVShows will add the "task" to Transmission but it won't start downloading until you want it to.
