TVShows 2 does not open when computer restarted.
I have noticed recently that programs are not downloading automatically they way they used to. I then discovered that the TVShows menu bar icon was missing. Once I opened System Preferences and clicked on the TVShows preference pane, the downloads would begin. (Actually, it is possible that I have to open a particular subscription to get the shows to start downloading.)
I had previously thought that, over time, the TVShows program was shutting itself down, as I often keep the computer running for days at a time. However, it appears the problem is that TVShows does not start when I restart the computer. As all the other Preference Pane items I have do restart with the computer, can I assume that TVShows should do so as well?
In TVShows "Preference" window, I have everything checked off except "Prioritize Magnet Links" and" Download Beta Versions."
So, am I doing something wrong?

Having the exactly the same problem. The preferences are set to put the icon in the menu bar but when restarted it is missing and downloads don't start until I open the TVShows preferences panel. Using iMac os X 10.6.8

I woke up this morning and…
On an OS X system:
Open the Accounts panel in the system preferences and click the Login Items button. Hit the plus sign to add an app to the list. When the file dialogue box opens enter tvshows in the search window. One of the files listed is TVShows.prefPane. Click the file, hit the Add button and you're done.
There is a similar procedure on Windows to add an app to the startup list.
In this case opening the preferences panel is the same as starting the app.

Seemed like the obvious solution. Tried it. Did not work. Guess I'll
just have to live with it.
Thanks for the suggestion, though.

So, Dan, did it work for you?

Yes, George this solution worked for me. I checked again and if you follow each step it should work for any OS X setup.

Hi all,
Sorry for the late reply... TVShows background process should run at startup, I don't know what's happening... can you send us the log? (About tab -> View logs, please paste the content into a text file and attach it to the message)

Hi,
I'll assign this to the developer queue so he can take a look as soon as he can, because I do see in the log that there are gaps of several hours between checks (probably when you shut down your computer) but I can't see why.
In the meantime, you could try if reinstalling the app from scratch solves the issue... In order to do that, please follow these steps:
Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience.

This is George. I originally posted about this issue. I tried
reinstalling, and that did not solve the problem. Here is the log as
requested.
Thanks.

Hi all,
George, your log seems the same as fiddlerdan3's... we'll just have to wait until the developer can take a look at them.
