Problems in automation
I've been trying to setup a workflow using TVShows, but I've run into two main problems that stop me from having a workflow I would be happy with running without me watching it every step of the way.
1) Downloaded torrents often contain sample video files, my conversion / iTunes importation software (iFlicks) will automatically add this file. I think this can be solved by only converting files that are more than a set size (possibly 100MB). I have a folder action that watches a folder (and its subfolders) but do not know enough Apple Script to add this feature, it is probably a simple edit, anyone interested in helping?
2) While the torrent file always has the right name the files I get often do not have the right name. Since these files don't have a name that follows a recognized naming scheme iFlicks will not get the meta data or even recognize it as a show. Has anyone found a good solution for dealing with this problem?
I think I found a solution to the second problem, but it also has its issues. A solution would be to put each .torrent file into its own subfolder that gets the same name as the .torrent file (the proper naming convention). My folder action script could then be modified to rename the largest file to the name of the torrent file which would effectively give the largest file (which we can assume is the episode) a name that fits the naming convention. Any thoughts on this?
I attached the folder action script that iFlicks uses, this watches a folder and automatically adds any new video files to iTunes after converting it.

Hi Colin,
So sorry for the late reply. It is indeed a complex issue, I haven't found any automatic solution myself. For TVShows 3.0 we plan to introduce post-processing features that might help (but the developer has to code it from scratch so don't expect it anytime soon).
I'll leave this thread open for a while, but keep in mind this is a support forum, not a developer forum, so I don't know if anyone will be able to help you.

Colin,
I just stumbled upon your post, I am not able to view the script that you wrote, but I wanted to share my workflow with you that I created a while back that took care of getting the tv shows downloaded and imported into iTunes using iFlicks. Here is a link to the site with the breakdown of the workflow.
